In 1753, Johannes Georg Lutz and his family left Wurtembug, sailed down the Rhine River, boarded the Ship Windsor in Rotterdam (John Goad, Master) and arrived in the port of Philadelphia on September 26, 1753."

"On June 4 1770 he and his brother purchased 400 acres on the south side of Pinch Gut Creek, the south side of Catawba River on Clark's Creek in Lincoln County.."
"The Lutz Family Graveyard is located by turning off Highway 321 and going to the Catawba County Prison Unit 086 on rural road #1883. After a short distance, turn right on rural road #1882 leads to Clark's Creek. The graveyard is located on a promontory overlooking Pinch Gut Creek at Clark's Creek, and the land is owned (1980) by Mrs. Frederick Whitener. Duke Power Company has rights-of-way for transmission lines on two sides of the graveyard."
