Donald Lee "Don" Grant, 85, of Abingdon, Va., passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Wellmont Hospice House. He was born on May 19, 1928, a son of the late George and Emma Davenport Grant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, George, Ted, Hubert, Hobert, Johnny, and Bobby Grant. Donald is survived by his wife, Francena Grant; sons, Ray Anthony "Tony" Grant, and Gary Grant; brother, Fred Grant; sisters, Mary Ruth Necessary and husband, Johnny, and Evelyn Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Blevins Funeral and Cremation Services, Bristol, Va. The funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Blevins Funeral and Cremation Services with the Reverend Scott Price officiating. The committal and interment service will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Rd., Bristol, TN 37620.
