Narrative

Emma Lee Grant, 102, a former resident of Clinton Ave., Bristol, Va., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at the Cambridge House.
She was born Sept. 10, 1899, in Appalachia, Va., the daughter of the late Walter and Callie West Davenport. Mrs. Grant was a retired employee of Greys Hosiery Mill and had made her home in the Bristol area most of her life. She was the widow of George Washington Grant Sr.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Donald and Francena Grant, Hobert Grant, Evelyn and Paul Gray, Fred H. Grant, and Mary Ruth and John Necessary; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sons, George W. Grant Sr., Hubert M. Grant, Ted R. Grant and John A. Grant.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Baker and Rev. Lester MacKinnon officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
