Theodrick served in civil war, US 8th Regiment Tennessee Cavalry - discharged lung injury & measles per war records.
Other hospital records show stomach problems.
He lived in Jefferson County at the time he enlisted, and may have been raised in Granger County.
(1860 census Roane Co Elizabeth Stuffestreen 14 from Carter Co )
1870 census for Roane Co shows Elizabeth 25, Theopolis 1, and Jane Grant age 57 (SC) ... was ths Theodricks mother come to live with them?? and Mary 19
[1870 census for Meigs county also has Mary F 19 and Jane 57 Grant living together apart from Theodrick]
[1880 census for Loudon County TN, Jane (mother, widowed, housekeeper) and Mary are in Loudon County]
1900 census T.B Grant 55, Elizabeth 55, Alice c.21, John 15 (this is about the time the picture of the cabin is. -
-note there is no porch and no under the house (cabin) per book claiming T.B. hid under it to drink and author found his wiskey jug under porch.

Pension documents: Enlisted Feb 24, 1864, discharged Sept 11, 1865; US 8th Regiment Tennessee Cavalry; while on duty at Nashville Tn on or about March 20 1864 he was disabled by measles resulting in lung trouble and deafness both ears; treated at No 8 Hospital at Louisville KY.

[that T B Grant his breast and head had hurt him ever since he had measles while in the US Army.. and he had never mentioned pension until J.M.Black nemed it to him two years ago.. dated Dec 6 1889]
